Tui Na

Tui na means "pushing grasping," and is a powerful form of Chinese medical Gabe Schiff-Verre offers Acupuncture in South Portland, Mainebodywork. Based on the same Oriental medical principles as acupuncture, tui na seeks to improve the flow of qi through the meridian channels. Tui na is particularly

Cupping

Oceanpoint Acupuncture And Herbal Medicine offers safe, effective Acupuncture in South Portland, MaineCupping is an ancient technique, used in many cultures, in which a special cup is applied to the skin and held in place by suction. The suction draws superficial tissue into the cup, which may either be left in place or moved along the body. Cupping brings fresh blood to the area and helps improve circulation. Traditional cupping, sometimes referred to as “fire cupping," uses heat to create a vacuum-like suction inside of glass cups. In modern times, cups that use a small pump to create suction have also been introduced and is what is typically practiced at Oceanpoint.

Electric Muscle Stimulation (E-stim)

E-stim is a method of relaxing muscle tissue by the release of a small electrical current through the needle directly into the muscle fiber. It is not painful and many
times can barely be felt. The current matches the body's natural electrical frequency, healing injuries and reducing pain more quickly. E-stim can also be used to treat scar tissue and boost overall effectiveness of treatments.

Auricular Therapy

Auricular Therapy is a method of Acupuncture that uses tiny needles on the ear. The ear is seen as a microcosm for the entire body, with the Head and upper body at the bottom of the ear, the spine along the outer edge, internal organs on the inner ear and the legs and feet on the top. It can be used to treat back pain, high blood Gabe Schiff-Verre offers Acupuncture in South Portland, Mainepressure, insomnia, digestion and any number of different maladies. Most recently is has had wonderful success treating alcohol and drug addiction.
Because the entire body is located in the ear, treatments can be done with only a few needles quickly and without disrobing. In this way Auricular Therapy is great for fast harmonizing treatments, treating patients with needle phobias or when an injury is so acute local needling is not possible.

Cold Laser Therapy

Oceanpoint Acupuncture And Herbal Medicine offers safe, effective Acupuncture in South Portland, Maine

I am now offering Cold Laser Therapy at Oceanpoint. CLT has been used for years in Germany, France, South Korea, Japan and China with amazing results. It is the cutting edge of modern non-invasive treatment for many conditions such as arthritis, carpal tunnel, neuropathy and chronic/acute joint and muscle injuries. It has been shown to reduce inflammation, heal damaged tissue, increase blood flow and in new studies potentiate the growth of new stem cells. As it is essentially a form of far infra-red light there is no risk of injury or pain during treatment and patients often see results in 3-5 sessions or less. I will be offering this therapy in conjunction with Acupuncture as well as laser-only sessions.

Please see the video below on how CLT works and how it may help you. There is also a link on my video page to its feature on Dr Oz.
